I was born in 1974 in Reinbek, Germany. After finishing school I served several internships at production, lighting and camera departments. Between 1996 and 2000 I was employed at Markenfilm Video GmbH, working as a vtr operator and editor. In 1998 I started my career as a compositing artist, learning autodesk flint/flame.
In 2000 I became a self employed flame artist working for companies all over Germany and specialising on commercials.
With the rise of software alternatives for compositing even in the commercials business I switched in 2008 from flame to nuke and (a bit later) nukestudio and since then have been using these for the past 10 years on all my projects.
After 20 years of compositing I decided it was time to add something new to my skillset and therefore in 2018 started learning blender and substance painter/designer.
